摘要: 根据双折射晶体中两特征偏振态的独立传播理论,研究了双折射晶体的透射相位。为说明这一方法,自主搭建偏光计,使用线偏振光在可见光波段实验测得了双折射干涉现象,并通过拟合透射震荡光谱的峰/谷求得两偏振态引入的透射相位。为再次证明实验方法的可靠性,根据琼斯矩阵理论计算了双折射晶体的透射相位,理论计算结果与实验测量结果相符合。双折射干涉法为偏振棱镜、相位延迟器等光学器件的设计与制备提供了参考。

Transmission Phase Measurement Using Birefringent Interference

Abstract: This paper studies the transmission phase in birefringent crystal through the transmission theory for the two eigen polarization states of the crystal. To demonstrate our approach, This paper has built a polarimeter which measures the birefringence interference (BI) using linearly polarized incident light in the visible range. The tansmission phase difference of the two states is obtained by fitting the peaks and troughs of the transmission oscillations. This paper crosschecks experimental results by the Jones matrix approach and obtain good agreements.The BI approach could lead to new designs and developments for optical devices such as polarizing prisms, phase retarders and so on.
